This is a modular early medieval kite shield, It is scaled to real world size and is a multi-part model complete with a shield board, covers front and back, rivets, washers, padding, rims, straps and shield boss options.
Files include multiple .ztl files for ZBrush, designed to be easy to hide/un-hide components and choose the parts you want for your shield design. These .ztl files include a base mesh, high resolution version and a high resolution version with poly paint and multiple pre-painted shield cover designs. Also included are .obj files for the base mesh and unpainted high resolution mesh that has been decimated for use in any other 3D applications.
Using ZBrush’s sub-tool and folders features this kite shield can be configured in many different ways to suite your liking by simply hiding/un-hiding and then creating a new Ztool from visible sub-tools. There is a user guide text file included for those new to ZBrush.
The base mesh is intended as a starting point for high poly detailing or customizing. The high poly versions are great if you’re really pressed for time or not confident in sculpting yet.
